Out & About

Tuesday, 14 August 2012

Today I went out for a walk after school and I saw this construction site. I thought it was worth taking a photo or 2 to show everyone a slightly different way of working on a building. These bamboo structures did not look that strong to me. However, these workers didn’t seem concerned and they even stopped their work to watch me take a photo. They were probably wondering why I was taking a photo of them.

I am starting to find my way around the city. There are half a million people in Macau yet it is not a big city. I have been told that I should be able to walk from one side of the city to the other side in just over an hour. I haven’t tried yet. I have figured out the fastest way to the get the food court in the casino and this seems to be my most walked route. I have also sorted out a route to get to the “Park & Shop” food store. I am headed there next. I am enjoying sitting in the school at the moment in the air con. It is now 3:30pm and it is hot outside. The sun is blazing.

I can’t believe how fast time goes and I have already been in Macau for 4 days. It feels like I have been here for weeks. I guess that is probably due to so many new things. Everyday is an adventure. The goal for today is go shoe shopping. I need to find some comfortable shoes that I can teach in. The dress shoes that I brought are going to be way to hot. I need something that with straps so I can wear without socks but not a flip flop. I saw some shoe stores in one of the casinos so I am going to go check out the prices. I am wondering how expensive shoes might be and I am also wondering if they have size 10???? I will keep you posted on my shoe adventure.
