Moonlight School

 Nov 15, 2019

There around 100 students at the school. The students are aged 4-12. There are 7 classrooms. Each day I try to spend time in a few different classes. It is a shouting contest when I arrive on campus. The kids are already in their rooms and when they see me they start to shout. “Miss, come into our room!” “Miss you did not come and visit us yesterday!”

The kids stick their heads out of their classroom doors and yell until I step into a classroom. It is almost heartbreaking for me. How do I decide which room to go into?

I try to stay for 2 lessons and then move on to the next classroom. I help with Science, Social, English and Computer lessons. The kids have a text book and all their lessons follow this book. The text and lessons are in English. But often the teacher needs to translate and explain concepts in Nepali.
