My guide suggested that we spend the day exploring for the Gangetic Dolphin at the Karnali River. He wasn’t sure if we would find any but it was worth a trip on the motorbike to go look.
There freshwater dolphins are highly endangered. This river is the only location to find these animals in Nepal.
I was in luck and we were able to spot a dolphin feeding in the river. We watched the dolphin come up for air. I attempted to snap some photos with my camera. We also found 2 Gharial Crocodiles sunning themselves on the river bank. Then on the drive home we spotted a Mongoose as he darted across the road in front of us.
