Jungle Trekking

I have just returned from a 3 day jungle trek in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It was amazing! Here is a view in the afternoon just before the sunset. We arrived to this Palong Village and spent the night in this little bamboo hut. It was lovely. The views of the mountains and jungles below us were amazing. We enjoyed the yummy food that our guide prepared for us as well. We certainly eat well on this tour. I felt like we were always eating. 

Our guide - Yut - was very knowledgable and he was able to tell us tons of information about the local plants. He was constantly picking up leaves and handing them to us asking us to smell them. Then he would tell us what the plant was and how the Thai people use the plant for cooking or eating. It was so interesting. I can't believe how many little plants there are for herbs and flavoring for Thai cooking. I had no idea.
