Yesterday I was walking over to the coffee shop and I saw these workers painting the lines on the road. I thought it was interesting because in Canada when I have seen road workers they usually have a stencil and a paint sprayer, not a a bucket of paint and a paint brush. I just found it interesting to watch this process. It made me think of the Thai saying, “ Same, Same but Different”….
Then as I carried on down the road I saw a group of construction workers that were working on a new casino that is being built by our school. The workers were all lined up together and the leader was showing everyone stretches. I wasn’t sure if I should snap a photo as I walked right past the workers. I watched as they all stood together in a group and completed arm circles, lunges and squats. It was interesting to watch. I am sure that construction workers in Canada would not stand in a field and complete stretches before their shift. I watched as every one of the workers participated. The leader called out and demonstrated the stretch and then everyone followed along. I wondered if this created a safer work environment as everyone was limber and awake before they started their shift.
