Living The Life

Hello fans, I am now on one of the Gili Islands enjoying life. It is hot and sunny here. The waves are crashing into the beach and I am watching the sun sink into the ocean. The sky is a beautiful pink & purple color. It is delightful and peaceful. I am also watching some local fishermen out in their little outrigger boat. They are standing and casting into the sea with the hopes of catching something.

I saw a sea turtle on the ferry ride here to the island so I figure that must be a good sign. I am fighting with all the incects in my bungalow though. First there are 2 large geckos. When I saw large I mean mini Komodo dragons really. These guys are the size of wine bottle. They hang out on the ceiling which is fine but I am scared that one of them will fall on me when I am sleeping. The good news is that they eat other creatures in my room, however they are very loud as they crunch on other bugs. Hummmm, not good for my peaceful sleeping. The other battle is with the mosquitos. There are so many. They are tiny but their bite is really itchy. Luckily I have a mosquito net so I can mostly hide from them. Then there are the ants. The little tiny ants. They are everywhere and constantly deciding to crawl onto my bed. They are small so they don't really stand a chance. Then there are the other random bugs. I don't know there names, I guess they are sort a like a stink bug. They have long, hard bodies and long bendy legs. They just land on me and scare me because I don't know what just flew into me. I am in my bungalow yelping and waving my arms like a mad person. I probably look like a crazy person.

Besides all that I am living the life. I am enjoying the island living and loving the amazing views. I am happy to sit in the sun and read books. I really don't want this holiday to end. So far 2013 will be going out with a bang!
