Keep Your Eyes Open

Friday, 21 September 2012

I try to carry my camera with me whenever I go out as I always find something to take a photo of. If I keep my eyes open I always find some thing interesting, weird or different when I walk around Macau. I snapped this photo of a small shrine that was on a corner of a road that I was walking down. It was on a road that connects to the back of the nature reserve. I don’t know what the meaning of this shrine is but there were incense sticks so I know that people are using this shrine and coming here to pray.

It is interesting because it is just a little mini temple on a street corner. I guess it is a convenient way for people to pray without traveling to the temple. I like this wise looking man as he looks like he could give some good advice to people.

If I close my eyes I can imagine him speaking. I think he would say something like: “A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song” – A Chinese Proverb.
