Back in Thailand

This is a tuk-tuk – the famous taxi of Thailand. I am back in Thailand. It is funny how life works. I was in Thailand in 2000 and I thought I would return since I fell in love with Thailand during my first visit. However, it turned out that I wasn’t able to return until 2011. Things had changed but other things stayed the same. It was same, same but different. Now I am back again in 2012. I never would have guessed that my life would work out that way. I didn’t expect to be back in Thailand, however, I am grateful to return.

I was just in Bangkok for the weekend but I loved being back in the sweaty city. I visited with friends, ate good food and explored dirty streets. I wondered through temples. I watched the monks walk around at 5am to collect alums. I sipped ice coffees in air conditioned cafes. I ate banana pancakes from the street venders. I bought cheap ice cream cones from 7/11. It went by too fast and now I am leaving on a jet plane, off to the next destination.
