Laos From Above

Here is a photo from the airplane as I flew over Laos on my way to Luang Prabang to volunteer my time with 2 different Not For Profit organizations there. The first group we are going to work with is the Language Project: http://www.thelanguageproject.org/index.php/the-libraries/luang-prabang-library This group is working to support local Laotian people with offering them access to a variety of books. 

A group of teachers from TIS have offered their time to help support the library and be available to chat with the students that drop by and want to practise their English. We are also going to spend a day with Big Brother Mouse: http://www.bigbrothermouse.com/visit.html This group creates and prints books in both Lao and English to give children access to learning materials. We are going to host a book party for a local village. It is going to be a full week of activities in Laos! I am looking forward to my week in Luang Prabang.
